Funny Guy Runs From Bounty Hunter

Boone: The Bounty Hunter (2017) Poster

5 /10

Watchable, somewhat funny flick

There are some funny moments and the premise is funny. Some of the acting is very amateurish and the editing isn't great. The story cannot be much simpler.

I guess it's OK to have it in the background while you're doing some work - it's watchable with some laughs but nothing to write home about.

Reviews cannot be from audience members

Come on, what is happening here. Did these reviewers actually see the movie or did they just work on it? I don't buy that this movie which is cheesy with people I have never ever seen or heard of could have a higher rating than The Goonies or E.T. I mean are we really buying that? Don't waste your time or money on this. It is not watchable.

This is a Real Case!

Warning: Spoilers

Boone (John Hennigan) is a hot dog TV bounty hunter going after guys like Kevin Sorbo for a parking ticket. His ratings plummet as the audience actually grows tired of his staged antics. With one last show left in the season, Boone calls in a favor from the DEA, and decides to do some real bounty hunting, going to Vallecitos, Mexico to retrieve the son of a drug lord who skipped bail. The town and its police force are owned by the drug lord.

This is an action film for tweens and young teens. It has cleavage, a cat fight, and a tipped port-o-let with someone in it...all the things an 11 year old male would love. The plot is straight forward without twists. People get killed and beat up, but most of that kind of violence takes place off camera. Hennigan's style of fighting is similar to parkour antics, again something for the kids. Mindless action and fun.

No swearing, sex, or nudity. Full women in small bikinis.

Who is the audience?

I am so confused at the high rating for this movie. It was liked by viewers who liked some other movies I had watched this year and loved and looked like it was fun. But it's poster is probably the nicest thing about it. The only thing I can fathom is that a lot of people who worked on it and their families or friends must have been giving it a lot of stars because I really don't think I missed anything. The acting felt like the first take each time and they took themselves too seriously for a low budget. Did they have fun making it? Probably, so that's nice I guess. But as far as independent movies I would not recommend this one and there are hundreds of other new ones out this year that are better to explore. Keep looking.

OK for a rainy day.

This certainly wasn't the worst action movie I've ever seen. The editing leaves a bit to be desired as I think most of the good stuff was left on the cutting room floor. As to the films star, I think he would have been a better Jack Reacher than Tom Cruise. At least as far as looks and build go. If you have a couple of hours to kill, and a good imagination, this is the flick for you.

Get BOONED today!!

I loved this movie! I have an unhealthy obsession with movies starring Pro Wrestlers and I always go in not expecting much in return. This movie however did not disappoint me at all. John's charisma, delivery of the one-liners and athletic display in this movie were outstanding. Definitely want a Boone 2!

Run away

Close to be the worst movie of the century. Bad acting, bad story, amateurism flourishes in this movie. You keep on watching as you hope the start was not an accurate representation of the whole film, but it only gets worse. The main role played by an "I know all" type of overpumped excuse of an actor, so awful it makes you puke....... If you finish this movie , you oughta have your head examined..........

Surprisingly Good Budget-Action Flick

I do not write many reviews. First, I only write if the movie is very very good and 2nd, if people are unnecessarily bashing a good movie. I decided to write this review because of 2nd reason.

It is a Budget-Action flick, just like those old Steven Seagal or Van Damme movies. I like those. Only thing is budget is much lesser and acting is bit amateurish. Just expect these 2 and you will enjoy the movie. It is kind of original, fun and entertaining. I never felt bored or felt liked dragged on. Put it on if you got some time to kill on a Sunday afternoon.

You wonder...

...how it could even get ONE star - I guess O stars are not possible. There should be some kind of "neutral" committee judging if a B-movie like this can get a 7. something rating.

I loath it when people say worse ever

Quit wasting time saying worst movie ever. Really? Ugh... That being said, you will watch this one and say, "I've seen that person before" on every single character except the main player. Could have had a better budget and more takes. This one seemed to run on "take one" on every scene. Not the best movie, but really guys? Worst ever? Shut up!

Not a complete travesty, but is definitely not recomended

Making an action movie takes some skill, and making a comedy takes some skill as well. However, when you are making a movie that is half action and half comedy, you really need a great deal of skill. The two genres are really different from each other, and you need a lot of care to successful mix them together. It has happened successfully in the past several times, but "Boone: The Bounty Hunter" is not one of those examples. It doesn't work in practically any way you can think of, but I think its worst offence is its kind of comedy. Apart from two or three mildly amusing moments, the movie is not only unfunny, it is way too jokey. The characters as a result come across as dimwits and lack any warmth that may win them the audience's favor. The action is a few notches better (there is occasionally some impressive stunt work, for one thing), but it is often directed and edited in a way that makes it particularly hard to follow and get excited about. The bad editing also extends to the main narrative; there are a few noticeable plot holes, as if linking footage or simple explanation was never shot in the first place. The icing on the cake are some often really rock bottom production values. Quite often the movie looks like it was shot in someone's backyard or in abandoned lots near the filmmakers' homes. Come to think about it, the look and feel of the entire enterprise at times strongly resembles someone's home movie. Why pay money to see this when your teenage son can shoot something like this for free?

A new franchise i can get behind

Boone: The Bounty Hunter is a action comedy movie about a macho man named Boone the main star of a reality crime fighting TV-show about to get cancelled due to the low rating.Whitout any choice he and the cast decide to pull out one last special episode with real crime and real bad people but things don't go smoothly as always.Boone is so full of himself,he likable and not all talk but he living in his own world for too long when all things is just a set up behind the camera so he very naive and can hurt other people feeling without realize it so the movie is the journey about him not only become a better person but also a hero in his fans eyes. The comedy is well done, the fight scene is well handle cause the actors can really fight and doing their own stunts plus for me it nice to see Osric Chau outside Supernatural series. The ending show there gonna be a sequel so let see how it goes

Don't waste your time

I don't know how this film got 6+ rating. This is like a homemade film with few bucks. It's a low budget film with bad story, acting and editing.I have no idea why people make these kind of films to waste everyone's time.

Lame-brained indie spoof

Warning: Spoilers

BOONE: THE BOUNTY HUNTER is a very low budget indie spoof of the TV show hit DOG: THE BOUNTY HUNTER. It's about a low rent TV hero who is all muscle but no brain who lands him into trouble when he crosses a ruthless drug lord. The resources are better than most indies resulting in a slicker production but this is still derivative, unfunny, and poorly paced. The most surprising thing about it is just how many down-on-their-luck celebrities take part. Kevin Sorbo has an amusing cameo at the outset, then we're treated to a muscular Jonathan Lipnicki (the kid from STUART LITTLE, no less), plus KINDERGARTEN COP's Richard Tyler, B-movie stalwart Lorenzo Lamas, Corbin Bernsen, Erika Eleniak, Dominique Swain, and even Capoeira fighter Lateef Crowder.

Not for Everybody

If you are looking for a great action movie with brilliant writing,Oscar worthy Acting and unbelievable stunts. Keep looking. If however you want a fun little movie that feels like it could have been made in the 80's on a shoestring budget you might want to give this movie a shot. I liked it more than I thought I would, maybe because I was expecting it to be awful. Not quite a So bad it's good movie it has some funny moments and an interesting fighting style on the part of the lead character. Are the fight scenes on a par with Jason Bourne or the Matrix, not even close. If you like "camp" or tongue in cheek type movies maybe give it a try.

Pure Guilty Pleasure Fun

Just fun and action from beginning to end with an attractive and charismatic cast. A fun way to spend 90mins. Looks like a sequel was planned at the end. Hope this happens.

Good watch and time pass.

It's a bit corny but it only shows the spirit of the movie. I don't understand why people are hating, given the budget it is pretty neat and the action sequences are also quite good. Many people don't understand but the Boone character is supposed to be over-the-top and flashy, he only gets serious sometimes but it wasn't a serious looking movie to begin with, it is for fun and time pass and it does it well enough. You want a serious movie??Go watch Shutter Island or smthng.

How can sarris007 even begin to compare with Kingsman?!

pgkl 23 January 2018

I given 2 stars because of 1 funny line, already mentioned in sarris007 review about 'wheres the stairs' The rest of the film though is complete drivel, corny beyond belief, poorly acted and some dreadful props (look out for the fake pig if you decided to watch)

Fun and actions-packed movies

If you like somewhat cool action movies, this is the one for you. Not bad at all from a low cost action movies. John Hennigan aka Johnny Mundo is back with some unbelievable parkour action. All the actions look real and the slow-mo was top! To be honest, the conversations are sometimes cliché but there are a lot of funny lines from this movies that it's worth forgetting the minor flaws. The plot is also good. Fun film considering the budget! Recommended!

Enjoyed it!

I was wondering why I haven't seen any promotion for TNA's superstar Johnny Impact's movie. But I like Johnny the wrestler and gave this movie a look see. My wife and I enjoyed it a lot, what a surprise. Lots of action and stunts! I thought TNA helped produced this, like WWE produce movies for their wrestlers, but no! This was all financed out of Johnny Impact's own pockets. Love it even more now! This was a passion of love and it showed. The cast was great and had great chemistry. The story was decent, but it was really the action, humor and chemistry between the cast that made this a fun movie night. I recommend for this for action/stunt junkies like me!

Extraordinary Lame

Everything about this film is not only but also lame. Watching this film will be a complete waste of time.

The story is so weak that one can easily predict every next scene. The script was written with not much care and no characters had any strong role throughout the film. It had no thrill, no twist or any interesting aspect which could grab the viewers attention. There was no real comedy in the script either. But the acting of all the casts was a complete joke. Seeing their terrible performance made the movie thousand times worse.

Along with bad acting there was clumsy action scenes. Most of the action scenes looked pretty funny rather than exciting. Even the CGI and the technology they showed in the film were simply hilarious.

If one really wants to know how bad a movie can be then s/she can watch it.

NOT RECOMMENDED.

It's going to be difficult to make a worse movie about bounty hunters

Again another movie on IMDb with a lot of fake reviews and by that I mean reviewers that clearly are involved in this movie, as an actor or acquaintance or friend of the costume designer or whatever. I thought I was going to see a parody of Dog, The Bounty Hunter, a show that I absolutly hate with repulsive characters. Well Boone, The Bounty Hunter is not even a parody on that piece of a garbage called a show. It's just the same garbage but then as a movie. And it's really bad, I can't even begin on how bad it is. The story is written by a six year old I guess, the punchlines are so cheesy you wonder who came up with this. But then there is the acting. That is of an unknown level, in a bad way then. Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson is the absolute worse even though he does not have a big role, luckily. I can't imagine this is his way of making a living, he can't be rich. The main character Boone is played by John Hennigan, another really bad actor. It's not a B-movie, more a Z-movie. At one point I fell asleep for fifteen minutes and when I woke up and I asked my wife if this garbage was still not finished and the only thing she could say to me was that I at least was lucky to have fallen asleep for awhile. Avoid this at all costs.

Pretty Good

It was actually pretty good. I thought the plot was pretty generic and obnoxious at first but then you get more absorbed into the movie as you keep watching.
